As the year draws to a close, Torture the Artist returns to Haus73 in Hamburg for the sixth and final
edition of eDEMi in 2025. After hosting standout nights with French connoisseur Dawidu,
Horsemen, J6 & Filippo MSM, and Cat Curl, the December edition welcomes one of the most
exciting and talked-about artists of the moment: Ballan.
Fresh off the release of his long-anticipated EP “Different Shapes / Euro Mess” on Alec Falconer’s
irresistible label SUNNY - the third outing under the Ba Dum Tish umbrella - Ballan arrives at
Haus73 during a defining moment in his rapidly rising career. Known for his playful studio
approach driven by spontaneity and instinct rather than over-polishing, Ballan’s music captures a
unique blend of electro grit, UK-garage swing, and house energy rooted in “happy accidents” and
the pure joy of creation. With further releases already lined up, including an upcoming EP on DJ
Cosworth’s Hardline, he continues to cement his position as one of the freshest voices shaping
contemporary club culture.
Supporting Ballan in the Anbau is none other than Holger Breuer - head of Torture the Artist,
respected DJ, curator, and the driving force behind the platform. A devoted vinyl enthusiast with an
extensive and carefully built collection, Holger is widely regarded as one of the most refined
selectors shaping the scene from behind the curtain. His style is a deeply personal mixture of UK
Garage, UK-Minimal, House, Breaks and the unmistakable funkiness rooted in the French House
tradition, forming sets that combine narrative ambition with groove-driven precision and rare-cut
elegance. Holger’s role extends far beyond the booth: he is the heart and brain of Torture the Artist,
quietly pulling the strings and curating with absolute passion.
Before the main event takes over the Anbau, the festivities begin much earlier in the Salon of
Haus73 from 4:30 PM, building momentum with four recorded warm-up sets. Alongside Ballan and
Holger Breuer, two Hamburg-based talents shape the evening: beccs - already a local scene
mainstay and regular at Golden Pudel Club - and G-Lamour, the House “G” himself. Active across
the city through Can’t Stop, the RAL6004 collective and as one half of Love Defender, G-Lamour
brings a fast-paced mixture of House, Speed House and UK-infused energy.
Expect a night driven by some of the freshest artists and most carefully refined selectors, closing the
year in true Torture the Artist fashion: dedicated, forward-thinking, and uncompromising.

On November 21st, Hamburg welcomes French selector, curator, and tastemaker Dawidu for a rare appearance that underscores just how exceptional this night will be. Artists of his stature and influence seldom find their way to Hamburg,making this evening an unmissable moment for the city’s underground.
Dawidu’s path through music reads like a love letter to culture itself: from Parisian theatre roots to formative stints in London and Bucharest, to shaping Paris nightlife with his Te Iubesc sessions, to now running his own label Attention Spin! via Yoyaku. Known for his deep, adaptive, and eraspanning sets, Dawidu’s approach is both fearless and fluid - a selector who bends atmospheres at will, uniting disparate influences into seamless journeys. His arrival in Hamburg not only brings international flair but also underlines eDEMi’s commitment to connecting the city with the wider underground network.
The evening begins upstairs at the Salon of Haus 73, where the public is invited to join the warm-up stream session - framed by the buzzing view of Hamburg’s Schanze district. Later, the action shifts to the Anbau, where intimacy and sound converge.
As always, Dawidu will be joined by Holger Breuer and Lukas Urbaum. Holger, head of Torture the Artist and one of Hamburg’s most trusted selectors, blends deep knowledge with fearless intuition, setting the tone for nights that linger long after the last track. In dieser Anbau invites Session treffen zwei DJs aufeinander, die sich unter anderem im Waagenbau einen Namen gemacht haben.
Henny Freiheit hat sich als Teil der Kollektive ParaDIGMA e.V. und Tiefgang in die Ohren und Beine der Hamburger Clubszene gespielt. Typisch für ihre energiegeladene Musik ist ein dunkel-treibender Techno mit melodischen Sequenzen und krachenden Drops. Lasst euch von feinstem Peak Time Techno mit Trance Einflüssen mitreißen, der den Floor zum Beben bringt.

After two editions and a sun-drenched third rendezvous in Hamburg’s Schanze district, Torture the Artist returns to Haus 73 for the fourth installment of its event series eDEMi – and this one comes with extra bite. On October 11, the night unfolds in two parts: an intimate warm-up session in the Salon from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, followed by the main event downstairs in the Anbau from 10 PM onward.
The evening’s soundtrack will be provided by rising UK talent J6, alongside Torture the Artist founder Holger Breuer and Hamburg selector Lukas Urbaum.
J6 (real name Jake Scott) makes his Hamburg debut with this appearance. Hailing from Manchester via Preston, he’s one of the most talked-about newcomers in the UK’s bubbling minimal and tech house scenes. Known for his crisp, wonky, groove-laden sound, J6 first turned heads through the Syntho community and a breakout debut on You&Me. Since then, releases on Oscuro, Jooice, Are You Alien, Kuuso - and forthcoming drops on People Unpleaser and Exarde — have cemented his reputation as a producer and DJ whose sets balance unpredictability, precision, and charisma. His stop at eDEMi promises just that: a sharp, playful, and raw dancefloor experience.
As head of Torture the Artist, Holger Breuer has built a platform recognized for its razor-sharp musical curation, in-depth artist interviews, and premieres that spotlight forward-thinking sounds. His DJ sets mirror that same ethos: emotionally intelligent, groove-driven, and subtly complex — blending deep and heady cuts with fluid dancefloor functionality.

Wir veranstalten am 04. Oktober 2025 zum zweiten Mal die „Do you remember the first time?” – die My Little Underground Familien-Disko. Wir spielen eine Mischung aus Britpop, Post-Punk, Indiepop und Soul. Die Disco ist eine wunderbare Gelegenheit für Eltern und ihre Babys bzw. Kinder, zu Belle & Sebastian, The Ronettes, Talking Heads, Pulp, The Smiths und vielen anderen abzutanzen. Für Eltern ist es oft schwierig, in Clubs zu gehen, da sich ein Discobesuch nur schwer mit dem Familienleben vereinbaren lässt. Daher sind die „My Little Underground“-Familien-Disco sowohl für Eltern als auch für die Kinder eine Gelegenheit, tanzen zu gehen. „Do you remember the first time?“ nimmt euch musikalisch zurück in die Zeit, in der ihr nur fürs Wochenende gelebt und die Nacht durchgetanzt habt. Nun kannst du deine Lieblingssongs zusammen mit deiner Familie noch einmal erleben und ein paar Stunden Auszeit vom Alltag nehmen!
Die Empfehlung gilt für Kinder bis zu einem Alter von zehn Jahren.

Glitch Baile zelebriert die lateinamerikanische Baile-Kultur und verkörpert einen Geist des Widerstands, der Euphorie und des Chaos. Es umfasst experimentelle Ästhetik und kanalisiert gleichzeitig die viszerale Energie von Produktionen aus dem Globalen Süden.

After two compelling editions, including a memorable second round with the Horsemen
delivering a masterclass in House music, eDEMi returns to its home base at Haus 73 with
a special cross-channel showcase. This time, Torture the Artist welcomes two selectors
from London whose record collections and curatorial ethos speak volumes: Filippo MSM
and Cat Curl.
Together, they run the Unexpected Items event series and Loose FM radio show, curating
intimate nights at London staples like Allmyfriends, The Marquis, Ton Of Brix, and Boat
Live. Their bookings have included the likes of Kalani, Neville Watson, Enchanted
Rhythms, Jade Seatle, Caldera, and Ysanne. As DJs, they’ve recently appeared at venues
across Europe, from Masada in Milan and Funk in the Forest in Wales to Berlin’s Utopie
and Mad Radio in Barcelona.
Filippo MSM is a lynchpin of the London scene, operating at the intersection of sound
and structure. He heads up the multi-format label Kulture Galerie and the more recently
founded Growing Pleasures, whose first release by Natebytheway - who some of you
might know from his Torture the Artist-showcase last year - earned praise from
heavyweights like Dr. Banana. He also forms one half of Metropolitan Soul Museum, co-
runs Improove PR, and hosts the Elevator Music show on Noods Radio. His many
ventures reflect an unyielding commitment to quality and underground spirit.
Cat Curl is a connoisseur of Acid, Detroit Techno, and progressive cuts with bite. Her
selections are shaped by a vast vinyl archive and an ear tuned toward tension, stomp,
and subtle seduction. Her debut mix was done for the I Love Acid and WGD maestro
Placid! - a fitting welcome for someone whose sets glide effortlessly between the rugged
and the refined.
Before the night moves indoors, the sun-yard at Haus 73 will host a livestream session
with Filippo performing under his Porcino moniker- a name drawn from the Italian word for
the prized Boletus edulis mushroom. Joining him for this golden-hour session are eDEMi
resident Lukas Urbaum and Torture the Artist founder Holger Breuer.
Holger Breuer, whose curatorial hand has shaped Torture the Artist into one of the most
distinctive platforms in electronic music journalism and events, brings years of deep
digging and cultural insight to the decks. His sets blend House, Minimal, Breaks with
HipHop-influences and understated emotional tension with pinpoint control - always
storytelling, never static.
As daylight fades, the action shifts to the club, where Cat Curl joins the lineup for the
nighttime portion of the event. Together with Filippo MSM, Holger Breuer, and Lukas
Urbaum, she’ll guide the floor through a night of groove-rich house and forward-leaning,
proggy elegance - precise, playful, and infused with the trademark eDEMi spirit.

After a buzzing debut, eDEMi returns to Haus 73 for its second edition - bringing together three devoted selectors for an intimate yet impactful journey through deep grooves and subcultural soul. For this special night, Horsemen, Holger Breuer, and Lukas Urbaum will each perform twice: first during a livestream session at 6:30 PM, and later at the main event starting at 11:00 PM.
Headlining the night are Horsemen, the Berlin-Amsterdam-based duo who've made significant waves in 2024 with standout releases on Dungeon Meat and SLABS - the label curated by Brawther and Tristan Da Cunha. The pair, comprised of a self-taught musician and film composer alongside an audio engineer, channel their distinct backgrounds into DJ sets that bridge 90s House, early Tech-House, and UK Garage with today's forward-thinking productions. Their recent tracks have been championed by heavyweights like Laurent Garnier, Chez Damier, Cinthie, Brawther, and Black Loops, and their growing discography is matched by a commitment to the scene via their own label, Talkbox Recordings, and their work as part of Love Ensemble (releasing on Nervous Records).
Alongside them, Holger Breuer - the founder of Torture the Artist - returns to both booth and broadcast. Known for his sharp taste, deep crates, and genre-fluid selections, Holger has become a key voice in the international underground. As a DJ, his sets fuse House, Deep House, Minimal, Breaks, and the occasional Hip-Hop twist, always grounded in groove and storytelling. As a curator, he's shaped Torture the Artist into more than just a media outlet - it’s a cultural platform that supports artists through in-depth features, premieres, and its signature livestream series absolutely on music. With partnerships across Europe (including Subwax, KMA60, and DBH Music), Holger’s vision continues to connect scenes, stories, and sound.
Completing the lineup is Lukas Urbaum, long-time musical partner of Holger and co-architect of absolutely on music. A devoted music collector with a taste for the nuanced and the dusty, Lukas builds his sets around warm House textures, quirky minimal flourishes, and subtle nods to Hip- Hop aesthetics. Kicking off with the livestream session at 6:30 PM, this second edition of eDEMi offers a rare opportunity to experience all three artists in both a broadcast format and on the dancefloor later that night.

14.06.2025 ShuShu x WEDER (Techno) Party
Ursprünglich sollte die Reise von ShuShu, die in São Paulo geboren und aufgewachsen ist, nach Hamburg nur ein Jahr dauern. Doch dann verliebte sie sich hemmungslos in die Stadt, weil sie hier alles fand, was sie aus einer Großstadt kannte, aber dennoch auf andere Art.
Einmal im Gängeviertel angekommen, fühlte ShuShu sich wohl und überwand Sprachbarrieren mit Musik. Um 2015 schloss sie sich der frisch gegründeten BassBotanik an und um 2017 begann sie, bei den Partys des Kollektivs an den Reglern zu drehen, ursprünglich als Duo ShuShu und Amoré. Schon bald hatte sie die Gelegenheit, in anderen Städten, Ländern und auf Festivals aufzulegen.
Seither versucht sie, dieses Spiel auszubalancieren, und findet immer wieder einen Weg, sich nachts hinter einem DJ-Pult auszuleben. Denn wenn sie ihre musikalischen Wurzeln und die explosiven Facetten des Techno mit den Feiernden teilt, hat es etwas unvergleichlich dionysisches, wie es nur die Musik und ein Dancefloor bieten können.
Zwischen modularen Synthesizern, Grooveboxen und anderen Klangkisten ist der Wahlhamburger WEDER zuhause. Kabel sind seine Lyrics. Als Liveact und DJ verbindet er organische und digitale Soundwelten.
In seinen energetisch geladenen und zugleich verträumten Techno und House Sets treffen verzerrte 303-Riffs auf Geigen-Hooks, Conga-Percussion auf 909-Geballer.

METATEXT: Elektronische Musik für Fortgeschrittene: Der deutsche Künstler Metatext hat sich mit seiner „Ghettogeisterbahn“ einen festen Platz in der elektronischen Musikszene erarbeitet.
Seinem eklektischen Stilmix ist fast alles zuzutrauen: Von Jazz, Hip-Hop, Dub, Disco und Downtempo bis hin zu Techno und Material, das auch aus einem Stockhausen-Seminar stammen könnte schämt er sich für nichts - nur überstrapazierte Gemeinplätze und Partyclassics müssen leider draußen bleiben. Mit zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen und Kollaborationen, unter anderem mit Künstlern wie Shkoon, Abarra und Karhua hat er internationale Anerkennung erlangt und die Welt bereist.
